Candle Care & FAQ's

Candle Care

Caring for your candle properly helps ensure a clean, even burn and gets the most out of every pour

First Burn Matters

Always allow your candle to burn long enough on the first light so the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar (usually 2–4 hours). This helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn for the life of your candle

Trim Your Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. This helps reduce soot, keeps the flame steady, and extends burn time

Burn Time

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time

  • Allow the wax to cool and reset between burns

Candle Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended

  • Keep away from children, pets, and drafts

  • Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface

  • Stop burning when approximately 10mm of wax remains

Storage

Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve fragrance and colour

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my candle burn?

Burn time varies depending on candle size, but approximate burn times are listed on each product page. Proper candle care will help maximise burn time.

Why is my candle tunnelling?

Tunnelling usually occurs when a candle hasn’t burned long enough on the first light. Let the wax melt fully across the top on future burns to correct this.

Why is there soot or smoke?

Soot is often caused by an untrimmed wick or burning for too long. Trim the wick and keep burns to under 4 hours.

Are your candles handmade?

Yes — all of our candles are hand-poured in small batches to ensure quality, care, and consistency.

What ingredients do you use?

We use high-quality wax, premium fragrance oils, and cotton. Each candle is designed to burn cleanly and evenly.

Do you offer custom or personalised candles?

We don’t currently offer custom candles, but keep an eye on our socials for future offerings.
